Keltec sub2000 FYI

FYI:

This particular gun is a TACK DRIVER.

I have never had a carbine put 10 rounds thru a .75" hole. Ever. Without a sling standing none the less. I had one round stovepipe, and I have feed a few hundred rounds through it.

If you want a good backpack/ truck gun, THIS IS IT.

Many 9mm carbines are capable of fine accuracy. The Ruger PC9 will shoot 5 rounds inside 1 inch at 50yds with a scope or red dot. I think that alone makes it a very useful carbine for small game or home defense.

I love my Sub-2000 in Glock 9mm magazine model.....perfect companion to my G17.

30 rd magazines and all fits neatly into a laptop or book bag - whats not to love?!?

No doubt - the most fun centerfire gun I own. But beyond fun - very effective on pie plates at 100 yards.

Re: Keltec sub2000 FYI

I sent my SUB-2000 packing after trying to figure out how to shot it left-handed without getting a face full of powder. Also, you have to admit that adjusting the front sight leaves a lot to be desired.

I did like the fact that it would fit over my parking brake folded up. I kept a 17 round magazine in it and a 33-round velcro'd to the stock. 50 rounds on hand was nice. Now I have a Calico M-950 Liberty pistol with 100-round helical drum magazine! MUCH nicer than the KT.

My 9mm Beretta Storm is also ridiculously accurate and easily ambidextrous (actually, the wife's, now that I have my .308). Talk about attention... fire this at the pistol range! Just wish it could take Glock magazines, like the Kel-tec. Oh, and it's so quiet, it sounds suppressed.

Yes, quiet. Especially with Winchester 147 JHPs.

I'm left handed shooter and I don't have that problem...may need to back off on your cheek weld slightly.

I hear yah on the front site, but I don't think I will ever adjust it. Its dead on...not bad at all for $380

Sorry for going off topic, but just what are your transport laws up there in the land of cheese? I may be moving up there in the next year. I have gotten used to living here in Nazi land, but I look forward to a little more relaxed attitude about firearms if I become a Cheesehead.

I have had all my guns put 10rnds though the same hole........at 1'.......so a accuracy measurement is incomplete without knowing the distance and details

Ruprick's accuracy detail of a pie plate at 100yds is much more useful information wise, which i would consider average+ accuracy for a 9mm carbine on sand bags.....and hand held would be excellent for both the gun and the shooter

That's a sweet picture. The Storm also comes in .40 does it not?

Isn't Microtech supposed to be coming out with a 9mm version(Glock mags I think) of their AUG clone pretty soon?

Yep, .40 & .45. I'd imagine the .45 is quite a formidable gun, with almost no kick. The 9mm kicks like a bb gun, but the round is still leaving the barrel more than 400 ft/sec faster than from my G19s.

The Keltec also comes in .40 cal. BTW, CDNN is selling them for $300, Have to think about that, I've always wanted a pistol caliber carbine as a "fun gun".

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the Hi-Point carbines: the 995 and the 995TS (I own both).

Not as nifty as the Keltec in that you can't fold them up, but punch one hole at fifty yards (OK, 1" for most shooters), and 2" at 100 yards. Yes, the Hi-Points have come a long way.

Other than not being collapsible like the Keltec's, the only other shortcoming I can point to is the limit to a 10-round magazine. But, hey... get a LOT of magazines, and practice swapping!!!

P.S. Going price is aroung $225-$250... what's not to like about that??? :23_28_100s:

When someone claims groups without giving range it usually means:
Handguns 25 yards
Rimfire rifles 50 yards
Centerfire rifles 100 yards.

But it still left me wondering if he was talking about 100yards since the little handgun-ammo-firing carbine just barely qualifies as a centerfire rifle.
